We houden 1,5 m¹ afstand! 7 november 2020: We varen nu volgens ons winterschema: alle weekenden zaterdag en zondag vanaf 10:00 tot 17:30 uur!! Riveer is a system of water taxis and ferry boats that connect a couple of nice towns and attractions in the Gorinchem region (like: Gorinchem, Woudrichem, Sleeuwijk and - during the summer seaon also - Loevestein Castle in Poederoijen). At the Gorinchem side there is a waiting room, box office and a small place to order snacks and have drinks. Slot Loevestein is a fortress and a castle. The history of the castle goes back 650 years and is divided into three periods: Middle Ages, state prison and the Dutch Waterline. The castle illustrates the story of these three periods. The most notable period is the period of the state prison. The most famous prisoner that was locked up in the castle is jurist Hugo Grotius. The bunker, the canals. Loevestein is a water castle that was built between 1357 and 1368. It was built in a strategic location in the middle of the Netherlands, where the Maas and Waal rivers come together (just west of current day villages of Poederoijen and Brakel, in the municipality of Zaltbommel, in Gelderland). Due to the corona virus, Loevestein is currently only accessible with an online paid admission ticket and a reserved timeslot ticket. There are 100 timeslot tickets per hour which provide access to the entire fortress, including the castle, exhibition and the catering.

• Once you’ve paid, the tickets are sent to your email address as a PDF file. It may take a few minutes before you receive your tickets by email. If you still haven’t received your tickets after some time, then check whether payment has been deducted from your bank account or whether the email ended up in your junk mail.

• Children from 0 to 3 years old can enter for free, but do need a timeslot ticket and an entrance ticket.
